Description

Who sells online in Hungary?

If you sell to online stores — software, logistics, packaging, payments, advertising, wholesale stock — the first question is always the same: who are they? There is no official register. The company registry does not know which company runs a webshop, search results are random, and old lists are outdated.

So we crawled 1.3 million .hu domains one by one and collected those with a real, active online store behind them — with a cart, payment and a legal notice. This table is the result.

What is in the table?

  • 21,497 active Hungarian online stores — not companies that might have a shop, but shops we actually checked
  • 18,776 business e-mail addresses (87.3%) — as published by the shop in its legal notice: info@, orders@, support@ and the like. Addresses containing a person’s name are not included.
  • 18,596 phone numbers (86.5%) and 18,911 registered addresses (88.0%)
  • 18,503 tax numbers (86.1%) and 15,994 company registration numbers (74.4%) — ready for invoicing, verifiable in VIES
  • 16,289 companies and 5,208 sole traders, marked in a separate column

What no other Hungarian list tells you: the shop platform

We identified the platform of every shop — known for 18,476 shops (85.9%):

Shop platformNumber of shops
WooCommerce7,331
UNAS5,170
Shoprenter2,838
Shopify1,067
OpenCart844
Magento432
PrestaShop427
VirtueMart350
custom-built3,021

If you sell a Shopify app, don’t contact 21 thousand shops — contact the 1,067 it is meant for. That is the difference between a targeted offer and spam.

The table also shows which payment, shipping, invoicing and newsletter providers, analytics and cookie tools each shop uses — e.g. Barion at 5,105 shops, SimplePay at 4,216; MPL at 2,768, GLS at 2,583.

And what it sells

18,889 shops (87.9%) are classified by their range into 17 industries and 66 sub-categories: clothing, beauty and health, home, food, building materials, electronics, car parts, garden, hobbies and more.

The file

  • Excel table (XLSX), instant download after payment (the link is valid for 30 days, up to 5 downloads)
  • Webshopok (webshops) sheet — 33 columns, one row per shop, two-row header (English and Hungarian)
  • Szolgáltatók (providers) sheet — which payment, shipping, invoicing and newsletter provider is behind each shop
  • Összesítő (summary) and Mezőleírás (field description)
  • Information (English) and Tudnivalók (Hungarian) — how the list may be used lawfully

One shop = one row. Shops reachable on several domains are merged.

What we have to say honestly

  • The table is a snapshot (autumn 2026, checked September 10–20, 2026). Shops open and close; in six months it will be less accurate. This price does not include updates.
  • Roughly one row in ten may be wrong about being an active online store — measured by manual sampling (90% accuracy).
  • No contact person names, no e-mail addresses containing personal names. Where a shop only published such an address, the e-mail field says “(törölt)” — 505 shops (2.3%).
  • No revenue or headcount. These can be matched from other sources via the tax number.
Lawful use. The data are business contact details that the companies published themselves; e-mail addresses containing a person’s name have been removed. Under EU and Hungarian law, electronic marketing (e.g. newsletters) to natural persons — including sole traders — requires their prior consent. The terms of use are set out in our Terms and Conditions and on the Information sheet of the file. The product is sold to businesses only.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get the file?

The download link appears immediately after successful payment and is also sent by e-mail. It can be used for 30 days, up to 5 times.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes, an electronic invoice is sent after payment. The price of 199 € is final.

Can I buy as a private person?

No, the product is sold to businesses only; a company tax/VAT number is required at checkout.

Can I withdraw from the purchase?

As the product is sold to businesses, there is no right of withdrawal under our Terms and Conditions. Please check the free sample first — the full table looks exactly the same.

Why does it say “(törölt)” instead of an e-mail address in some rows?

“Törölt” means “deleted”: there the company only published an e-mail address containing a person’s name, which we do not pass on for data-protection reasons. Filter them out using the “E-mail type” column before loading the list into a CRM or newsletter tool. The other details of these rows (phone, address, tax number) are still included.

In what language is the data?

The column headers are in English and Hungarian; the values (company names, cities, descriptions, industries) are in Hungarian, as published by the companies. The Information sheet explains every column in English.

What can I open it with?

Excel, LibreOffice, Google Sheets. To load it into a CRM, save it from Excel as CSV (File → Save As → CSV UTF-8).

Will there be updates?

This price covers the autumn 2026 snapshot. Updated editions will be released later as separate products.
